Happy Bundles

Happy Bundles is a nonprofit organization founded to bring joy to children battling cancer by delivering personalized gift bundles. The organization, originally started in South Africa, is now headquartered in Seattle, USA, and continues to expand its reach internationally. In March 2024, I collaborated with their CEO to design and develop a website that would communicate their mission, increase community engagement, and streamline operations. The site needed to serve as a central hub for storytelling, donations, and event management. The goal was to create a digital platform that could grow alongside the organization’s expanding vision.

Challenge

The nonprofit had no centralized digital presence that could effectively support its growing base of donors and community members. Their founder, Candice, needed a solution that would allow her to independently manage events, share updates, and collect donations without relying on a developer for every update. The design also needed to balance emotional storytelling with a clear, user-friendly structure that encouraged action. Scalability and ease of use were crucial, especially as Happy Bundles looked to expand its impact.

Approach

We began by identifying key user journeys—visitors looking to donate, supporters wanting to host events, and families looking to understand the organization’s story. I focused on designing a clean, responsive site that would be both emotionally resonant and functionally intuitive. Emphasis was placed on a CMS that empowered the CEO to manage events and content independently. The design process was collaborative, drawing inspiration from the nonprofit’s uplifting mission and child-centric focus. Each section of the site was carefully structured to guide users toward donation and engagement.

Solution

The final website was built in Webflow with a custom CMS that allows the client to easily add new events, stories, and partner updates. I embedded a secure donation form that communicates impact clearly and inspires trust. An Events section was developed to allow visitors to RSVP, buy tickets, and view upcoming fundraising initiatives. The visual identity reflects warmth and optimism, supported by a responsive layout that performs seamlessly across devices. Together, these elements established the site as the organization’s digital headquarters.

Results

Since launch, Happy Bundles has seen an increase in both donations and supporter engagement. The CEO now regularly uses the CMS to create and manage events, helping streamline operations and reduce dependency on external developers. The site has become the organization’s central platform, enabling rapid response to opportunities and improved outreach. Community-hosted fundraising events have increased, and the professional design has helped boost trust among partners and donors. Overall, the website has empowered the nonprofit to grow and operate more efficiently.
